Cold rolling consists of reducing the thickness of metal bars and giving them a special profile shape based on
the customer’s design and specifications.
Raw material is received in bars or coils. It is tested to ensure that there are no imperfections and is set up for the further processing cycles.
The process consists of passing the material several times through a pair of rollers that are kept at a distance less than the thickness of the material. This leads to reducing material thickness and to elongation in the rolling direction.
Once the cold rolling phase has been completed, further processing or treatments may be required or rolling steps may need to be repeated before reaching the final profile.
After rolling and treating, special profiles are packaged in bars or coils depending on the customer’s requests or on the shape of the product. They may be shipped by land, sea or air.
